Tarot Study Group in Chicago
A monthly, in-person tarot group at Eli Tea Bar in Andersonville, Chicago. We sit together, pull cards, and practice reading — no lectures, no memorization, no experience required.
What It Is
This is a hands-on study group, not a class where you sit and listen. Each session focuses on a different aspect of tarot — suits, numbers, major arcana, spreads, intuition — and you learn by doing. You'll pull cards, practice reading for each other, and build confidence with the deck at your own pace.
I use the Rider Waite Smith deck as our foundation since it's the basis for most modern tarot decks, but you're welcome to bring whatever deck you work with.
Who It's For
Complete beginners who've never touched a deck. People who bought a deck a year ago and it's still sitting on a shelf. Intermediate readers who want more practice in a low-pressure setting. Anyone who's curious about tarot and wants to explore it with other people instead of alone.
The group is small, welcoming, and judgment-free. Most people who come are women in their 30s–50s, but everyone is welcome.
